I ordered this and have had the chance to put it through its paces. The trimmer is great for regular weeds and grass, but will only bludgeon larger brush. The weight and shaft adjustment make this an exceptionally comfortable tool to use! The blower works as it should, but I bought this set primarily for the 2nd battery. I recommend making sure both batteries are charged before starting and getting a faster charger (either from B&D or Craftsman); the included charger takes 8 hours and is not at all convenient.

My review is primarily about the string trimmer. It is more powerful than my previous 18V string trimmer, and this can actually be dangerous. Debris gets kicked up to the point of not only having to wear safety glasses but having to wear long pants/sleeves.My B&D 18V string trimmer was about 3 years old. There was nothing wrong with it except that the batteries had reached the end of their life. Since they cost as much as the trimmer with batteries, I decided to get a new trimmer. Reconditioned is a better value and it comes with the full two-year warranty, so you can't go wrong there.But I should have done more research before purchasing. A neighbor had told me that 20V charges faster and holds a charge longer, but that was not my experience and it's not what most reviews say. Be aware that it takes about 6-1/2 hours to charge a single battery. The charge for a lithium ion battery also runs out all at once versus just slowing down. This can be annoying since there's no warning that you're about to lose power. Also, it does not run long enough to finish the trimming that I could always finish with my 18V unit.I cannot recommend this product.I do, however, highly recommend CPO Outlets (the Amazon seller). They were fabulous to deal with and made the return absolutely painless. They even paid for the shipping back and then refunded the shipping I had paid to receive the product. I will definitely purchase from this seller again.

I saw the other buyers review and I have had the total opposite experience. Mine arrived today and I had purchased a new set for my other house, which inspired me to try this refurb set for here. I am glad I tried. Just the batteries alone are worth nearly what this cost. Both items look brand new and so do the charger and batteries. Not one detectable scratch anywhere. Packaging was a little weak in the components were put into bubble wrap envelopes for batteries and charger and al 3 had popped out of their cushiony home in transit. But seems to not have affected it. I tried tools and batteries were partially charged and worked fine out of the box. I am now fully charging them but expect to be very happy in making this buy. Time will tell-but I think you can't beat this vaue and the condition for me was essentially new. I wish they had a refurb hedgetrimmer without battery I could buy-it's nice to interchange batteries and I would buy that.An fyi for you contractor types-my contractor brother said the black and decker batteries are the same as dewalt ones-except dewalt is much more expensive and same guts and are totaly interchangeable. So if you have or wil buy dewalt products, keep this in mind. I am not sure if there is a larger B&D battery option, and I may consider one as lithium will stay charged for ong periods of no use. They do however go dead all at once, not like nicad or NIMH where it slows. So no warnings, just stops. But have a fresh charged one from the other tool or elsewhere and swap it out. Not sure how ong charging takes-will find out now I guess.A great value-if your experience is like mine it's a no brainer. I will update my review if things turn out to be not as I feel they are, but that would surprise me. This isn't a tool to weedwhack your whole lawn or chop down treelike weeds. But for quick weedwhacking along areas with normal grass it never doesn't start-like gas ones. The max line is kinda small so I expect it to wear quickly and you probably want to buy an extra one of the plastic covers for the weed whacker end line cover as I understand they break easily-and are hard to find> I am going to investigate putting an alternative head on it, but the torque on this is not what a gas one is so I don't know if it will drive that heavier head and obtain enough torque for cutting. But maybe try some heavier line in int-.065 is max recommended. I don't think there is a shaft to break like curved hande ones-so at worse I think it would just slow it or not cut. Will see.Go for it!
