I have used the set for several weeks now. It has met all of my expectation. The drill in particular is fantastic, the same heavy duty I have used in the NiCad version. This combo kit is a great deal.

I don't usually rate items, but I bought this set as an upgrade for my 18v Dewalt set and the difference in power is really amazing. Considering it's really only a 2 volt difference, I was really impressed! The led light is incredible and I often have people ask if they can buy it from me :) It really lights up an area and leaves everyone blind and in the dark when you leave... I only wish they had improved on the flexible neck design from the 18v set. I really like the Impact Drill's size. It fits just about anywhere and has really saved me when installing boxes in tight areas. The sawsall cuts though emt, pencil rod, and unistrut easily.I use this set 5-6 days a week, 8-10 hours a day. It's good to get more batteries. I like having a battery for each tool and two charged spares. So buy a four pack of batteries to go with this and you're covered. So, if you're in the market for new tools, these are light weight (way lighter than my 18 volt set), and powerful with long lasting batteries.

One of my great annoyances with rechargeable products has been battery life. Charge it up hoping to have it ready for use at any time and inevitably by the time you actually need it, the battery is dead and you wind up waiting hours for it to charge. The only solution is to constantly monitor the battery and charge as often as needed regardless of use. So Dewalt gets big points here for using Li-Ion batteries, as they will take a charge and simply hold it. How long, I don't know, but from my experience it's months and months and months...Included here is a well-balanced, hefty hammer drill (which functions as a regular drill just fine) that I used the most, a reciprocating saw, impact driver, and a pistol-grip LED light, all packed in a larger, tough bag. The only questionable item among them is the light - I haven't really felt a need to use it, though I suppose it's probably a nice light, bright and long-lasting. It just seems like a toss-in to say "4 tool kit" rather than "3 tool kit." The hammer drill has been put to use many times around the house for various duties - metal, wood, light and heavy - and not once did I doubt its abilities. This is the first cordless drill that has instilled any confidence in me about its ability to get a job done. Most consumer level drills (read: cheap) are really pretty weak, but the Dewalt is, of course, not a consumer-level drill. The reciprocating saw may be meant for cutting joists and plywood, but I actually employed it to hack off some offending thick tree branches that I otherwise would have been out there using a hand-saw on. And it worked beautifully - it made fast work of this apparently menial job. It's probably overkill, but it's the tool I had and I'm thrilled I didn't have to wear out my arm instead with the old hand-saw.You get what you pay for. I know many will balk at the price of this set, but having bought and subsequently replaced at least three low-end drills in the past few years, it's worth it to invest in a better tool up front. Not only will it last longer, it will do the job better. You may not need all of the tools in this set, but you can buy them separately at more reasonable prices (though I believe the set is cheaper together - if you have a need for all three tools... and light.)
