5A great set of tools for my 80%
By Randall P. Kuhn
Over the years I've found that I was getting pretty tired of lugging around my Milwaukee 18 volt tools for applications that didn't require the torque/raw power and it would darn near kill me to hold that monster drill above my head for any length of time. My work has evolved to the point that 18 volts was overkill about 80% of the time plus the batteries seem to be more expensive every year I needed a new one. I purchased the Dewalt 12 volt Max screwdriver kit last November and was sold on the versatility and power of the 12 volt Max line-up. I was almost ready to pull the trigger on a combo tool kit when I heard about the small pivoting recipro saw that Dewalt was introducing. For years I used the Milwaukee 18v "Hatchet" and liked that saw very much but sold it recently with all my other Milwaukee tools. I got a sweet deal on Amazon for this four tool combo kit (DCK413S2 - which provided everything else in the line since I already had the screwdriver). I gotta say I love these tools. They're light, but feel solidly constructed. The lithium batteries are way cheaper that any 18 volt and last a heck of a long time. I've used all the tools in the kit on multiple jobs so far - and no regrets or second thoughts. I originally though that the led light that comes with the kits was probably a cheap incentive-type item that I wouldn't have much use for - I always carry Fenix lights with me, flashlight and headlight - but this thing is great! It has turned out to be my go-to light in my tool bag and the fact that the battery is interchangeable with the tools is a no brainer. The recipro saw is a blast - from cutting copper pipes, conduit, making clean exploratory holes to find plumbing leaks - I even used it this weekend to cut out tree roots to relay slate slabs. If your main work is demo and total remodels these tools will come up short - they're not designed for that. For my other 20% I still have my Dewalt 18v impact driver, the Rigid drain machine and a corded Bosch rotary hammer. For my other 80% the Dewalt 12v Max tool line does the job without breaking the bank and my back. I hope that Dewalt continues to develop this tool line using the same 12v Max form-factor because a mini angle grinder and a brad stapler/nailer (leaving that compressor at home is a dream come true) would be awesome. If you're considering these tools you won't be disappointed. RK

5AMAZING
By Adam G
Love all the tools. I got it with a rebate and saved $70. The reciprocating saw is pretty sweet. It does have a generic recepticals for blades and can handle 4" and 6" blades. I am not sure how long a charge would last. I cut through several 2x4s before the thing gave out. I mean its only a 12v battery, and it wasn't fully charged. The drills are great.I did run over the light with my john deer tractor wheel and the light was no worse for wear and works great. Overall, professional build quality, lightweight and comfortable. The bag was ok, but nothing fancy. Would be nice if it came with another battery. GREAT buy.

5Never happier with a cordless tool
By RK
The kit bag is a little small. Now that that's out of the way, I couldn't be happier with this kit! The light works great and is adjustable to where you need it. For a small drill it has good power. The saw is so handy that I took my corded Sawsall off the job. And last but not least, the impact driver is now my absolute favorite tool. Battery life is very good. 12v is enough for most repairs. My co-workers are lining up to buy the same kit.
