5Awesome drills!
By Forester Guy
These are the best drills/impact drivers i have ever used. Ive drilled a lot of holes in concrete with the hammer drill. The impact driver is so strong it can break a 3/8" lag bolt if you arent carful. Nice drill chucks. Good battery life too.

4Good solid tools
By J. Bruha
Pros - drillVery powerful drill, you will be glad it comes with a side handleprecise variable speed controlall functions work as they are supposed togood battery life for NiCadexcellent clutchLED work lightCons - drill:heavy3 speed switch can feel a little vagueplay in output shaftStill a NiCadThe drill/driver works well, is extremely powerful, and has a very secure ratcheting chuck. The hammer function works well, and the variable clutch is precise and easily adjusted. The LED is a nice touch. My only real gripes are the weight, which I expected considering the NiCad XR batteries, and also a bit of play in the output shaft that the chuck attatches to. It does not 'wobble' as in being out of round, but rather has a bit of fore and aft play, with a bit of spring tension on it. It seems that with just a little pressure, you can push the whole chuck into the body of the drill about 1/8 inch or so, which makes it a little more difficult at times, to precisely start a drill bit, than if it was tight. I think this is by design, as when in hammer mode, as you apply pressure to the bit, it forces the chuck back a bit, into the hammer mechanism. If they could tighten that up a bit, when in 'drill' mode, this would be the best cordless drill I ever used. The impact driver is a good one. Compact, yet adequately powered. I like that you can insert bits one-handed into it. Again, the LED worklight is a nice touch. Battery life is good for NiCads, and again, it is heavier than a comparable tool with a Lithium battery. It does what it is supposed to, which is apply torque to fasteners, without the typical torque reaction back to you. While the drill actually has more peak torque than the impact driver, being able to drive or loosen screws the impact can't quite handle, it does not try to twist itself out of your hands with use. Instead it has a hammer mechanism, that applies torque in little impulses, to drive or remove fasteners. If it had a little more power, it would be 5 stars. As it is, it doesn't have any more power than the Craftsman it replaced, which sells for half the price. Hopefully, the DeWalt, will last longer, but only time will tell. As of right now, I consider it a good, but not spectacular tool.

4Hammerdrill
By Everet L. Rennow
I am pleased with the Dewalt Hammerdrill product I received although it was described with having a soft pack carrying case, what I actually got was a hard case. This is okay with me I prefer the hard case anyway.
